Freed & Renewed in Christ – 500 Years of God’s Grace in Action
Congregational Resourcing Event – Saturday, March 11, 8:30am – 3:15pm, Kishwaukee Community College, Malta, IL. The event will focus on the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. Keynote Presenter will be the Rev. Dr. Winston Persaud, Wartburg Theological Seminary Professor of Systematic Theology, The Kent S. Knutson & UELC Professor in Theology, & Mission Director of the Center for Global Theologies. His keynote will be: “Christian Witness in a Pluralistic World – Cross Cultural Challenges,” which will bring insights from our Lutheran heritage and discuss ways in which we may respond to the contemporary crisis of defining and confessing the Gospel. In addition to workshops from the keynote speaker and NIS Bishop Jeffrey Clements, workshops feature: Administration/Council/Treasurers, Education, Evangelism/Outreach/Hospitality, Global/Inter-Faith, Leadership, Social Justice, Spirituality/Prayer/Health & Wellness, Stewardship, and Youth/Young Adult/Family Ministry. Registration with payment by February 25 is $20 and includes lunch. Registration after February 25 is $25 per person. Lunch may be provided, if enough are available.
